If you walk through a craft store you see many different shapes and sizes of wicker baskets, and many people wonder to themselves what could you possibly do with all those baskets, well the answer is more things than you may think. All wicker baskets are made of woven willow, reed, cane or any type of plant that can be shaped when wet and is able to retain its shape when dried, making the range of wicker baskets astounding, from the smallest size to the largest you can get a wicker basket for any need. What can you use a wicker basket for you may ask yourself, what most people will answer is the obvious answers of a wicker picnic basket, a wicker laundry basket or a plain wicker basket to harvest fruit or vegetables with.
But have you ever thought about using a basket to store your children’s toys in? In a home where the children’s play area is coincides with an entertaining room, keeping a look you like for a room to entertain in is hard to do if you have a corner with toys piled into it. Take those toys and put them in cute wicker baskets and store them on a shelf and suddenly your wicker furniture set is complete, with the toys put away and unseen in the baskets no one is the wiser about the truth of the cute shelf in the corner. If you find your baskets at a flea market or a yard sale your basket will most likely need to be cleaned, an easy thing to do with water and soap, but be sure to dry it soon. If you really want to get creative all wicker baskets can be shaped or distorted when wet, any heavy weight put on a basket will shape it in odd and different ways, simply let it dry like this and your wicker basket will have a completely unique look. No longer think of a wicker basket as a useless thing, no longer think only of the few things you can do, don’t get trapped in the, wicker laundry basket, or the picnic basket get more from your wicker. The main thing about using a Wicker basket in your home or office look unique or different is to think outside the box, get creative and experiment and the possibilities will amaze you.
